Asia is the world's largest continent. its huge range of physical features include in southwest Asia the Arabian peninsula, in southern Asia the Indian subcontinent, in southeast Asia the vast Indonesian archipelago, in central Asia the plateau of Tibet and the Gobi desert and in east Asia the volcanic islands of  japan and the Kamchatka peninsula. North to south, the continent extends over 76 degrees of latitude from the arctic ocean in the north to the southern tip of Indonesia in south. the Ural mountains and the Caucasus in the west from the Boundary with Europe. Asia's most impressive mountain range is the Himalaya which contains the world's highest peaks. the Continent is drained by some of the world's longest river and the Caspian sea is the world's largest lake or inland sea.
